Welcome to Horsepothecary!

Welcome one and all to our little space to help you while we try to live cleaner with our horses!

We started this company a few years ago after we needed a sustainable and cost effetive spary for the pesky flies and bugs that bothered my horses when we were riding. At the time we had 5 horses and were going through a 30 oz bottel a week. At the cost of $15 to $23 a bottle that was a lot to spend. Also having kids that were usinga abuseing the spray wasitng majority of it by spills or palying with it, we decided this was something we could work on cost wise on our farm.

Looking back on all the sprays we were using we noticed all the chemicals, there were a lot! looking some up on the web we were flabbergasted that these were in the products we trusted to put on our horses and would spray on us from time to time. My husband and I decided to make our own, we will go into mor detail on a later post! After making a successful few test batches we started to look at some other items we use that we could replace with a homemade version, we discovered may items we could replace in our grooming caddy. As we used them around our farm and out and about at shows we recived several people commenting and interested in them. We received questions on where they could buy them. Well, that was when the idea of producing items for retail and we started Horsepothecary.

As we developed the correct recipe for every item, we try to source the most ethically produced items, we keep or consumer in mind and are able to keep all of our items at a competitive price point.

We are excited to announce that we will be expanding our line to service the rider just as much as the horse. We will be adding several new items this year! We hope that soon we will be able to reach a broader audience as well.
